Elizabeth Staelens

Occupational Therapist & Coach

Dog mama, joyful gardener, and Occupational Therapist with a love for play-based therapy.

Originally from Fort McMurray, Elizabeth moved to Edmonton to complete her Bachelor of Education and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She blends her background in teaching and occupational therapy to creatively promote children’s independence, autonomy and self-efficacy.

Elizabeth takes a kind, gentle, and playful approach to therapy. She believes in meeting families where they’re at and walking along side them, celebrating their strengths and building their confidence and capacity. Elizabeth values building strong, trusting relationships where children are celebrated for being their authentic selves. Through meaningful play, Elizabeth aims to empower children to engage in what matters most to them and their families.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Elizabeth spending time outdoors with her dog, Ruthie. You might also find her at a community arts class, in her garden, running in the river valley, antiquing, or curled up writing poetry.

If the light is in your heart, you will find your way home.
